COCJAMAICA yesterday launched its National Essay Competition. It was a tactical approach to engage primarily the youth to write and provided an opportunity ??for the creative, developing and also mature thinkers to share & express their ideas on a topic which should facilitate a stimulating read.
The competition comprises of two age categories
Three judges were selected in the Education sector who will score each??anonymous??entry via an online grade system.
“I don’t have a figure in mind as it relates to how many entries I am expecting, however, with a number of congregations across the island ??and an educated population I would be satisfied with a minimum twenty entries. I think its the congregations to encourage and engage the minds within the assembly to write for us to see the success.” said Angel Brown – Executive Director, COCJAMAICA.
The competition invites registered users of COCJamaica within Jamaica to write on the Topic “Can there be a ‘Christian Swag’? Discuss.” Final submissions is March 23, 2012.
